Which is better Florida or California? Florida or California are both decent places to live and the final answer will depend on what a person is specifically looking for. However, that being said let's look at why so many people are leaving California for Florida and not the other way around.

Anyone who has been watching the news is aware that California is much more draconian to it's citizenry than Florida is. Granted governments change but Florida has historically been more free and place more personnel responsibility upon the people who reside here. The more you get from your government typically the more demands it laces upon you. Florida leans more toward freedom and despite what you may have heard every lifestyle and race is represented in Florida and coexists well.

The weather is parts of California is great. However the weather in central Florida and north Florida is also very nice. As for hurricanes you can certainly limit the risk by living in central Florida around Orlando or preferably Windermere FL. In most parts of Florida you will be close enough to get the sea breeze effect or will be near lakes which also have breezes around them. Both places have weather pro's and cons so it is easy to choose either Florida or California.

There is no such thing as rent control in Florida. Not to mention people are moving to this state from all over the world. Why? The prices here are still relatively affordable, property taxes are lower and you can live in this state at any income level. Need I say no state income tax? The choice is clear for most people. The evidences is overwhelming that Florida is the clear winner and best choice between Florida or California.
