Tijuana Flats is one of 120+ in 4 states carrying the same name. Yes, this is a franchise but who cares as long as the food is great, atmosphere is great and the restaurant stays clean and Tijuana Flats does all of those things. The idea for this restaurant was formed by Brian Wheeler in 1995. Sometime after that the first of many more was opened in Winter Park FL.
We all love restaurants that are one of a kind. However often those restaurants face challenges that effect their patrons experiences one way or another. A chain style restaurant offers more consistency in food quality (in this case not in Taco Bell's) and pricing because they can.
Well I guess why not? They have great food and most of us will enjoy Tex-Mex occasionally. In addition to that this restaurant has a rewards program and they have given a lot back to their employees and communities. That is the same reason Publix Supermarket does so well. When restaurant goers or supermarket patrons realize there is quality and decent pricing the only things that can be better is location and respect for the business.
