W 1st Avenue is located on the north end of Windermere Town. W 1st Avenue is actually named West because it is located on the west side of Main Street. If you are wondering yes there is an E 1st Avenue but it is much shorter.

W 1st Avenue is only about 1,550 feet long or 4 city blocks. The street does pass by a canal which is very attractive. The canal is part of Wauseon Bay and the picture above does not do it justice. I really want you to see it on a beautiful day, and in person. If you like towns with history why not find one with beautiful lakes as well. That is Windermere FL.

The residences on this street definitely have been through some changes and took some time to get built. The first home on this street was build in 1910 and still stands. It last sold in 1972 for just $18,000 dollars and has just over 1000 square feet. To be honest it is fairly easy to spot if you are looking around as you make the drive down this street.

The Newest Residence

The newest home is on the corner of W 1st Avenue and Pine Street. Since it is on the corner as far as I'm concerned it is on this street. This home has never been resold since built in 2015 and has 3000+ square feet of living area. It isn't the largest but it is really nice and certainly has an interesting garage.
